What is the Diversity Visa lottery?

The diversity immigrant visa (DV) lottery is a program that gives up to 55,000 randomly selected immigrants the chance to obtain permanent residency in the United States of America.

The Department of State administers this annual program through the Immigration Act of 1990. Eligible candidates should come from countries with historically low immigration rates to the US and have met a series of strict requirements.

How does the DV lottery work?

To join the lottery for a Diversity Visa, you have to submit a filled-out application online. You can also join yearly, with the DV lottery deadline falling around October to November.

But take note! Every year, the US State Department disqualifies over 300,000 applications due to incomplete or improper applications. To make sure you’ll be part of the draw, we can assist you with your DV lottery application. In our 30 years of assistance, none of our applications have ever been disqualified.

What happens if you win the DV card lottery?

If you win the DV lottery, Rush In Documentation Center can assist you in applying for a Green Card.
A happy family in front of a laptop.

Winning the DV lottery gives you and all your qualifying family members the right to apply for a green card by adjusting your status in the US or obtaining an immigrant visa through the embassy. This means you can legally immigrate to the United States and eventually adjust your status as a bona fide American citizen in the future.

It’s important to act fast once the DV results are out. There are fewer Diversity Visas available than the number of winners, and your visa must be issued within the fiscal year when you were selected.

If you’re in the USA…
In some cases, winners of the Diversity Visa program are already in the United States and possess a legal status in the USA. For these applicants, the adjustment of status application will be through the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

If you’re outside the USA…

Most people chosen to be part of the DV lottery draft are living outside the United States. In this case, they need to apply for a Green Card through the US consulate. From there, you’ll be scheduled for a visa interview, and your Diversity Visa will be approved once you successfully undergo the interview

Why you need professional help to apply for green card diversity lottery

Here’s why you should trust a professional to assist you with your Green Card application once you win the DV lottery.

The Department of State will NOT notify you!

The Department of State will NOT send you any mail or email to notify you about the DV results. The only way to check the lottery winners is through the Entrant Status Check – that is if you remember to look at it immediately. Instead, you can partner with professionals like us to ensure you’ll be informed of the results as soon as it becomes available.

There are scammers faking Diversity Visa results.

Some unscrupulous individuals will claim that you were selected, and they will only release the results once you send them money. Even the USCIS has warned about these fraudsters, so make sure you’re only talking to a professional if you need assistance with your DV lottery and subsequent green card application.

Incorrect information will disqualify your application

It’s easy to make mistakes when filling out the Green Card Diversity Visa application form, which will lead to your disqualification. And even if you got selected but didn’t meet certain requirements, you’ll still get disqualified for a visa and Green Card during your immigration interview.

I am very grateful for the work in preparing the package of documents for the Green Card at the immigration center. Camilla worked with me, everything was very carefully prepared, thoughtfully prepared, she was always in touch and answered all the questions that arose. After 9 months there was an interview and a positive result. This is the second time I have contacted this service, I really like their attitude towards clients, I will definitely contact this company again.

FAQ

How does the Diversity Visa lottery work?

The Diversity Visa lottery or DV lottery is a program in which applicants from eligible countries are randomly selected and given the chance to secure permanent residency in the United States. It’s also a pathway to American citizenship in the future.

Technically, you can still apply for the DV lottery, but there’s very little advantage to it. After all, you’re already qualified for the marriage-based green card.

Since the DV lottery requires at least a high school education or work experience, most people have to be 18 years old to be eligible to apply for the Diversity Visa program.

The only way to know the DV lottery results is to perform an Entrant Status Check on the US Department of State website. However, to make sure you get notified right away, you can partner with Rush In Documentation Center for your application process.

The DV lottery time often falls from October to November. After that, the results of DV lottery will be released around May.

To view all eligible countries for the DV lottery, you can visit the US Department of State website. Basically, countries that have sent fewer than 50,000 immigrants to the US in the past 5 years are included in the draw. You can also refer to the nearest embassy or consulate to know more about your eligibility.

Yes! The more applications you and your family submit, the higher your chances of winning the Diversity Visa lottery.

The Diversity Visa, or the American lottery for green cards, was established under the Immigration Act of 1990 to promote diversity among immigrants in the United States.
